The Forecast

Every day the National Weather Service in Nashville publishes an Area Forecast Discussion. It's where meteorologists talk to each other in dense technical shorthand about shortwave troughs, CAPE values, and mid-level lapse rates. Nobody reads it. It is deeply nerdy and we love it.

The Screaming

Every song opens with a forecaster reading the key messages out loud. Flat, measured, over a quiet music bed, exactly as issued. Then the band comes in. Real lyrics, real terminology, an unreasonable amount of screaming.

The Result
