Pleasant weather with seasonal temperatures and dry conditions through Monday. Warming up next week with medium rain chances developing by the weekend. Yeah, listen to that forecast... sounds like my kind of trouble. Northwesterly flow filtering high clouds tonight High pressure holding down the neighborhood tight Fixed right between a ridge to the west And a troffing to the east, yeah we take what's best Got a light northerly breeze, eighty degrees in the street Low humidity making every step feel sweet But midweek comes and the ridge takes hold Pushing up the heat real brazen and bold Southerly flow bringing back the grease Nashville hasn't seen a single drop of peace Upper eighties, low nineties, running out of luck Not a trace at B N A since nineteen sixty-three, stuck You want a little shower? Well you gotta pay up Watch the mercury climb, we're pushing back up Large troff out west trying to find its path Uncertainty brewing in a slow-burn wrath Dry through Friday, medium chances late I love the dry heat standing at the gate Comfortable levels about to hit the wall I'm strutting through September while the leaves don't fall Midweek comes and the ridge takes hold Pushing up the heat real brazen and bold Southerly flow bringing back the grease Nashville hasn't seen a single drop of peace Upper eighties, low nineties, running out of luck Not a trace at B N A since nineteen sixty-three, stuck You want a little shower? Well you gotta pay up Watch the mercury climb, we're pushing back up Yeah, pushing back up Not another drop in sight First time since October of nineteen sixty-three Upper eighties, low nineties Keep it hot, keep it dry Pushing back up
The forecast discussion
KEY MESSAGES
Updated at 559 AM CDT Sun Sep 27 2026
- Pleasant weather with seasonal temperatures and dry conditions through Monday.
- Warming up next week with medium rain chances developing by the weekend.
SHORT TERM
(Tonight through Monday Night) Issued at 1108 PM CDT Sat Sep 26 2026
Cool and dry conditions persist tonight as high pressure solidly remains over the area.
Northwesterly flow is filtering in patches of high clouds, leading to partly cloudy skies overnight.
The pleasant weather continues Sunday with warm afternoon highs in the 80s, low humidity, and a light northerly breeze.
We will remained fixed between ridging to the west and troughing to the east through Monday.
This will keep very comfortable temperature and humidity levels around through then.
LONG TERM
(Tuesday through next Sunday) Issued at 1108 PM CDT Sat Sep 26 2026
Ridging will continue to build into the area by the middle of the week, pushing temperatures back up into the upper 80s to low 90s.
Southerly flow will return during the time, unfortunately bringing higher humidity back.
A large trough will develop out west near the end of the week, but uncertainty remains in its eventual path and how quickly it will move.
On the whole, things will remain dry through at least Friday with low to medium rain chances returning to the forecast this weekend.
For those keeping up, if we finish the month of September without another drop of rain in Nashville, this will be the first time since October of 1963 that BNA has measured a trace or less or precipitation for an entire month.
Needless to say, some rain would be great, but the pattern is not in favor of it right now.
