Lyrics

Pleasant weather with seasonal temperatures and dry conditions through Monday.
Warming up next week with medium rain chances developing by the weekend.

Northwesterly flow filtering in patches of high clouds.
Cool and dry conditions persist tonight.
High pressure solidly remains over the area.
A light northerly breeze... low humidity...

Warm afternoon highs in the eighties.
Comfortable temperature levels stay locked in place.
We are trapped between forces we cannot break.
Ridging to the west... troffing to the east...
The calm before the ridge builds back by mid-week,
pushing temperatures into the nineties.

Northwesterly flow over high clouds tonight
No rainfall in sight, the sun shining bright
We drift in silence while the atmosphere drains
High pressure remains

FIXED BETWEEN RIDGING TO THE WEST AND TROFFING TO THE EAST!
FIXED BETWEEN RIDGING TO THE WEST AND TROFFING TO THE EAST!
FIXED BETWEEN RIDGING TO THE WEST AND TROFFING TO THE EAST!
HIGH PRESSURE SOLIDLY REMAINS!
HIGH PRESSURE SOLIDLY REMAINS!

KEY MESSAGES

- Pleasant weather with seasonal temperatures and dry conditions through Monday.

- Warming up next week with medium rain chances developing by the weekend.

SHORT TERM

(Tonight through Monday Night) Issued at 1108 PM CDT Sat Sep 26 2026

Cool and dry conditions persist tonight as high pressure solidly remains over the area.

Northwesterly flow is filtering in patches of high clouds, leading to partly cloudy skies overnight.

The pleasant weather continues Sunday with warm afternoon highs in the 80s, low humidity, and a light northerly breeze.

We will remained fixed between ridging to the west and troughing to the east through Monday.

This will keep very comfortable temperature and humidity levels around through then.

LONG TERM

(Tuesday through next Sunday) Issued at 1108 PM CDT Sat Sep 26 2026

Ridging will continue to build into the area by the middle of the week, pushing temperatures back up into the upper 80s to low 90s.

Southerly flow will return during the time, unfortunately bringing higher humidity back.

A large trough will develop out west near the end of the week, but uncertainty remains in its eventual path and how quickly it will move.

On the whole, things will remain dry through at least Friday with low to medium rain chances returning to the forecast this weekend.

For those keeping up, if we finish the month of September without another drop of rain in Nashville, this will be the first time since October of 1963 that BNA has measured a trace or less or precipitation for an entire month.

Needless to say, some rain would be great, but the pattern is not in favor of it right now.
