Lyrics

Clouds gradually clearing tonight as a weak cold front passes through late tonight into Monday.
Dry weather expected through at least Friday with cool nights and warm days.

Clouds are clearing Middle Tennessee this morning
Northwest to southeast without a warning
Highs in the seventies pushing eighty in the sun
Clear skies tonight when the daytime is done
Low to mid fifties dropping area wide
Another dry period starting inside!

Reinforcing cold front swinging through on Monday
Cold air advection cutting through the state
High pressure setting up, sealing up our fate
Knocking hard at the gate!

Over Middle Tennessee the sun takes hold!
Watch the sky clear out, watch the sky unfold!
High pressure locks us in, the cold air flows!
Where the dry wind blows!

Cold air advection will not last long
Mid-eighties creeping back sharp and strong
Morning lows dipping down forty to fifty
Atmosphere bone dry, sterile and shifting
High pressure trapping every single ray
No rain in sight to wash the dust away!

EIGHTY!

Reinforcing front!
Cold air advection!
High pressure rules!
Where the dry wind blows!

Cool nights.
Warm days.
Where the dry wind blows.

KEY MESSAGES

Updated at 904 PM CDT Sun Oct 4 2026

- Clouds gradually clearing tonight as a weak cold front passes through late tonight into Monday.

- Dry weather expected through at least Friday with cool nights and warm days.

SHORT TERM

(Rest of today through Monday) Issued at 1112 AM CDT Sun Oct 4 2026

Clouds are slowly clearing Middle Tennessee this morning, with full clearing by the time we get into this evening and tonight.

Highs will be in the 70s today, with areas that see additional sunshine as clouds clear from NW to SE getting to 80 degrees.

Overnight, we will drop into the low to mid 50s areawide under clear skies, kicking off another dry period in Middle Tennessee.

Thanks to the reinforcing cold front swinging through Monday, we will see nice cold air advection into the area for the beginning of the week.

Highs will initially be in the 70s and low 80s (much like today), and skies will be clear as high pressure sets up over the state once again.

LONG TERM

(Monday Night through next Sunday) Issued at 1112 AM CDT Sun Oct 4 2026

Unfortunately the cold air advection won't last long.

Highs will slowly warm back into the mid 80s as the week wears on. The morning lows are where the chilly air really shines, as temperatures will dip into the 40s and 50s across the area through mid-week next week.

High pressure will keep us dry through the week, with the next low chance for rain on the weekend.

Hopefully, we can get enough to help bust more of this drought, but we're unsure on specifics like amounts and exact locations at this time.
