SHORT TERM
(Tonight through Sunday Night) Issued at 1042 PM CDT Fri Aug 28 2026
We have moved into a quiet and dry weather pattern and it looks like it will stick around for a while.
High pressure set up over the eastern Great Lakes has ushered in lower humidity and dry conditions.
Dew points have fallen into the low to mid 60s.
The lower humidity will stick around into tomorrow before it starts to get more humid again.
Lows tonight will fall into the low to mid 60s and the fog potential is overall low with the drier air mass in place.
High pressure will continue to influence our weather on Saturday with highs in the low to mid 90s.
Weak short waves will spin around the upper level ridge set up over the Atlantic, this will bring some afternoon clouds and maybe a light shower over the eastern part of the area.
Saturday night into Sunday high pressure will be sliding eastward and we will see southerly flow develop.
This will start to push higher dew points back into the region.
A strong ridge to our west will also start to build east warming highs a few more degrees.
LONG TERM

Quiet weather will persist through the extended forecast as the upper level ridge sets up over the Southeast US. This will bring a hot week to the area with widespread highs in the low to mid 90s.
Some areas could see some upper 90s mid-week.
Hot temperatures are favored to last into the end of the week but an upper level trough pushing into the Northeast may push the ridge back west and bring some cooling but that is uncertain at this time.
With the upper level ridge over us we will see little to no rain chances through the forecast period.
