Things are more active along the AL state line this evening, as storms ride a CAPE boundary east.
Elsewhere in Middle Tennessee, things are calmer.
Overnight, expect these thunderstorms to push east out of Middle Tennessee and temperatures to dip into the mid 60s to low 70s for lows.
Friday will start off with some patchy fog around the area.
There are some shower and thunderstorm chances in the afternoon on the Cumberland plateau, but overall the trough directly overhead should help keep things relatively stable.
Highs will be a little cooler in the 80s with some spots touching 90 degrees.
More patchy fog is on the docket for Friday night into Saturday morning as well, with low temperatures in the low to mid 60s.
LONG TERM

As the trough settles in, the pattern turns dry for the weekend.
Into the beginning of the work week, we remain in NW flow aloft, which looks to bring in isolated rain chances through mid-week.
Rain chances look to become more scattered into mid-week as NW flow persists.
Temperatures will remain in the upper 80s to low 90s through the forecast period.
